GHK-Cu
Glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine is a naturally occurring tripeptide, first isolated from human plasma, that binds copper(II) with high affinity. It is widely studied in wound-healing and dermal fibroblast models.

Mechanism
GHK chelates Cu(II) through its histidine imidazole and glycine amino group, and may help deliver copper to cells. It has been studied for effects on collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycan synthesis. Gene-expression analysis suggests it affects many genes involved in tissue remodelling and antioxidant response.
Key findings in the literature
01At nanomolar concentrations, it stimulated collagen synthesis in fibroblast cultures [1].
02Connectivity Map analysis links GHK to changes in expression of a broad set of human genes, including genes for extracellular-matrix remodelling [2].
03Plasma GHK concentrations have been reported to fall with age, from about 200 ng/mL at age 20 to about 80 ng/mL at age 60 [3].
