Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Ordino Research (“we,” “us”) collects through ordinoresearch.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect what we need to verify researchers, fill orders and keep records, and nothing more.
01What we collect
- Account details: your name, organization, department or lab, email address, phone number and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Attestations: your confirmation that you are 21 or older and buying for laboratory research, with the time you confirmed it.
- Orders: shipping address, products and lots ordered, payment method, purchase order numbers, invoices and shipment tracking.
- Compound requests: compounds, sizes and quantities you ask us to carry, with any date or note you add.
- Referrals: the code you registered with, who referred you, the researchers you referred, and your points history.
- Commercial terms: payment terms and tax exemption status, including any exemption certificate you send us.
- Messages you send us, and basic technical data such as IP address and browser type that our hosting provider logs to run and secure the Site.
We don't collect card numbers. Card payments happen on our payment processor's own page, and they handle that information under their own privacy policy.
02How we use it
We use your information to create and secure your account, verify eligibility, process and ship orders, issue invoices, run the referral program, answer your questions, prevent fraud and misuse (including checking that referrals aren't between the same organization or household), and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. We send transactional email about your account and orders. We don't send marketing email unless you opt in, and every marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe.
03Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the business:
- Shipping carriers (such as UPS and FedEx) receive your name, organization, address and phone number to deliver orders.
- Our payment processor receives your name, email and order total when you pay by card.
- Venmo handles payments you send through it under its own privacy policy. We see the name on your Venmo account, the amount and your note, and use them to match the payment to your order.
- Service providers that host the Site, its database and files, and send our email, under contracts that limit their use of your data.
- Referrers see how many researchers registered with their code and the points each referred order earned. Since points follow merchandise value, that reflects order size, but referrers never see who you are or what you bought.
- Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, customers or the public.
We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
04Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, all needed for the Site to work. We don't use analytics or advertising trackers.

05How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open. Order, invoice and attestation records are kept for 7 years to meet tax, accounting and compliance requirements, even if you close your account. Server logs are kept for a short period for security.
06Security
Passwords are hashed, the Site runs over HTTPS, and admin access is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect your account has been compromised.
07Your choices and rights
You can view and update your profile and shipping address in your account. You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account by emailing accounts@ordinoresearch.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We may keep records we're required to retain, as described above. Depending on your state, you may have additional rights, and we won't treat you differently for using them.
08Age
The Site is only for people 21 or older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 21 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
09Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date, and email account holders about material changes. Questions or requests: accounts@ordinoresearch.com. Our terms of sale cover purchases and research use.
